Balakovo SF Selected Danieli as Equipment Provider for New Universal Rail and Structural Steel Mill

Balakovo SF is implementing a project for a new electrometallurgical complex with a universal rolling mill. They signed a contract with Danieli (Italy) as the provider of the major manufacturing equipment.

Steel-smelting machinery will include EAF, a vacuum degasser and a continuous casting machine. The mill will mainly manufacture beams, rails, angle bar, U-section, various types of sheet piles, Z-sections, bulb sections, rails up to 150 m long, and other types of special profile sections.

The new production is expected to start in 2024 with the Mill’s annual production output about 1.4 mln ton of steel and 1 mln ton of rolled products. Finished products are to be delivered both domestically and exported abroad.
